TAY YEE TENG

I started programming when I took on my diploma in Financial Business Informatics at Temasek Polytechnic. Upon joining the diploma not knowing what programming is all about, my experiences did not disappoint me. 

 

I was part of the Polytechnic Foundation Programme which enabled me to get a head start on working with HTML and CSS which was enjoyable. As the years goes by, my experience and knowledge heightened tremendously which can be observed from the projects I have done.

 

Furthermore, exploring with data analytics softwares such as KNIME, Power BI, Tableau was extremely interesting and insightful which helped to hone my analytical skills. Nonetheless, learning about financial products, banks and other factors such as risk management, provided me with more awareness of banks and what they have to offer.

Besides enjoying the process of making websites and mobile application, I took on numerous roles in polytechnic such as being the President and Vice President of my CCAs as well as tutoring my juniors with modules they were struggling with. Upon moving on to the university life, I took on new roles such as the Marketing Director for SMU Product Club and Team Leader for Talent Management in AIESEC in SMU.

Stepping out of my comfort zone to experience so much is one of my greatest decision. I have come so far and gained so much insight along the way and I am looking forward to heightening my knowledge in various aspects.
